Since signing up to Influenster I’ve received 3 different Voxboxes of goodies to try. For those who don’t know Influenster measures your social impact and your activity on the app and if they are impressed and think your audience will enjoy it, they send products for you to review. It’s also a great app to use when wanting to know if a product is worth your money or not as it is full of reviews and also has product Q&A boards. I’d fully recommend.
Today’s post is about my latest VoxBox which is the Marc Jacobs Beauty Matte Highliner Voxbox in collaboration with John Lewis. The package includes 2 full size Matte Highliner eyeliners. As mentioned, this were sent to me to review, but opinions are always my own.
The first shade is Earthquake, a true brown, which is perfect for lining the lid and serves a great, subtler alternative to my usual blackest of black liners.
The second shade is Pink Of Me, which it a light pink shade.
I’ve got to say, I’m find this formula bullet proof. It does not budge once in place, which is exactly what I look for in a liner. This is a gel formula, so you do have a bit of time to smudge for drama before it sets. I’ve tried a sample size of the Blacquer, which is an intense black, so I was so happy to find the formula consistent across the shade range.
I’ve always been a big fan of using white or pinkish toned liner in my waterline, as it makes you look so much more awake and makes your eyes stand out. However, my problem with most liners is they don’t last in the waterline. This liner lasted in the waterline for at least 10 hours, which I have never experienced before.
In this look, I’m showing the effect of Pink Of Me in the waterline and inner corners and Earthquake smudged on the lid.
A nice quirk of this product is the base of the liner which is a hidden, build in mini sharpener, which is equally adorable and useful.
The only downsize of the Matte Highliners is that they are really expensive for an eyeliner, totalling at £20 a pop. I do like them enough to repurchase at full price, but I will definitely cringe as I pay and will not be picking up all of the shades – only the essentials!
